Ghost Dance

Ghost Dance is a religious ritual popular in the northern part of Aba Prefecture. Ghost Dance is performed as a ritual to pray for happiness and peace. Basically, a meeting of dharma will be held at each monastery in the last day of a year in Tibetan Lunar Calendar. During the occasion, some lamas will wear ancient costumes and masks, disguising themselves as ghosts. They will come out to the square center in groups while perform ghost dance with accompaniment of drums, conch and cymbals.
